Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer

We finally have one of these bad boys in the kitchen.

Finally.

Finally!!!!

We were gifted some money this Christmas and told to use it for something "fun." Well, what is more fun than a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer?  Really, I don't get out much anymore because this mixer is more than FUN. It's AWESOME.

(*and no, I am not being paid by anyone to share my opinions of the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. Now if Kitchen Aid gets wind of my LOVE, they are welcome to shower me with gifts of gratitude. But I digress...)

We chose the 600 professional series and have been very pleased. It has done a double batch of chocolate chip cookies, mashed potatoes, bread, pizza dough (2 kinds!), frosting, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Basically, it's been used pretty much daily since it's purchase and will be earning its' keep. If you don't have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer and are thinking about getting one--GET ONE!!!!

  1. Ha. Ha. I'm not good in the kitchen department. But I think I know just about how you feel about your new toy. Probably similar to the way I felt when I got my Dyson Animal. I wanted to vacuum up dog hair non-stop. That feeling passed after a few weeks.

  2. Dorothy, enjoy. I have had one for 8 years now and just love it. I don't have any of the special attachments for it as I have everything they offer in separate tools right now but if one goes the replacement will be with one to fit my machine. I haven't hand needed a loaf of bread since I got mine and I make bread almost every week. The only drawback I have is I have to leave it sitting on the counter as it is so heavy I can hardly lift it.

  3. My kitchenaid came with my husband when we got married. He was a bachelor for far too long with a good paying job just looking for ways to spend his money. Boy does he wish those times would come back to him now. Enjoy it!

  4. I love mine, too. I remember when I got it and I felt very much like you. I still enjoy using it. Have fun!

Did you get a fun color? MIne is white, but sometimes I wish I had gone for color.

  5. Zoey-I got a sweet flat black color. I really wanted turquoise or hot pink, but those weren't available in the model I wanted. We're still using it like crazy!!!

  6. I had a Sunbeam Mixmaster (got it as a wedding present). That's the one you learned on. It did everything but bread dough because I made a 5-loaf batch. I even made petit fours (sp) for Dawn's baptism (before delivery, then froze them. Learned glaze loses its shine in the freezer!) Have fun with your new machine! Love, Mom

    1. I hear ya!! I was GREEN with envy of those friends in blogland and real life who owned one. So thankful we were able to purchase one-it's been such a blessing!
