Puttin' Up.

My final ( I think!) canning of the season was applesauce. Brad found some clearance apples for $4 and of course-he brought them home. They were a mix of Macs, Jonathan, Empire and a few Golden Delicious-and about a bushel or a bit more.

The apples sat out for about 1 week and that meant that Brendan probably ate 2 or 3 a day.


I cooked it in smaller batches to prevent burning.


Almost done!!!! You can see the boys' Angry Bird Halloween costumes in the background.

Not too messy this time!

All done! 20 more quarts, bringing me to a total of 90 quarts of applesauce put up. Will it last until next Fall? Nope.

    Nice haul of apples. What a price. I live in apple country but no prices like that. I was just reading your putting up this year compared to last year. What a nice increase. You go girl. I haven't totaled mine up yet for this year but it should keep us going for a while.
