I've been picking strawberries here and there for about a week but today's harvest was my largest one-timer ever! This is just a smidge over 3 pounds of strawberries. I think they are Alpine strawberries, but I'm not sure. The biggest ones are about as big around as a quarter and some of them are as tiny as the end of my pinky finger. I'm not planning on making jam with them, so we're eatin' 'em ALL.
They look fantastic! I'm so excited you were able to outsmart the birds this year. I bought organic strawberry starter plants for party favors to give at Katie's Strawberry Shortcake birthday party (wow, that's a mouthful), and I'm hoping we'll be able to sneak a few that ripen before the party gets here. ;)
