I've been edging my perennial beds:
This bed has a new PEAR TREE in it! Paid $10 for it last Fall. It has a mate a few feet away & we'll be purchasing an additional variety in a few weeks. |
And starting to wake up the vegetable garden:
These are some of our pea plants! Planted these right around St. Patrick's Day, and then a second planting about a week ago. |
And I pulled a weed or 2 here and there in the garlic:
I planted 50, and have 48 come up-not bad! |
I spotted much-too-early strawberry blossoms:
Now I'm going to have to cover these darn things b/c we're nowhere NEAR out of the hard freeze danger. Phooey. |
And my 4 year old decided to "garden" some of our scrap wood, with a tomato cage added for good measure:
This is just the tip of the iceberg; my to-do list barely has a dent in it. I still need to weed behind the pool, weed behind the shed, clean all the kids' large toys, cut back all the ornamental grasses, move Grape Hyacinths...sheesh. That to-do list is a whole other post!

Hi Dorothy! I am pleased to visit today. It looks like you are extremely busy in the garden. Take your time and enjoy it; you'll be at it for the next 6 months!
ReplyDeleteHi!, I'm visiting from Tuesday Garden Party. Our winter and spring have been much warmer than normal here in Tennessee. I picked my first strawberry today! Our last frost date isn't until April 15, but chances seem slim that we'll get zapped. March was 10 degrees higher than normal. I think we may be a burnt up crisp by June, lol.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a lot going on in your garden! Thanks for sharing.
Spring is such a busy time! I have a to do list I don't even want to think about!
ReplyDeleteYour garlic bed looks great!
