Butterfly Finale.

Our final butterfly hatched for the season on October 24. We have two remaining chrysalis (chrysalii? Sorry, not taking time to look up how to make that plural!) I've researched about overwintering a chrysalis and it seems that the butterfly will not emerge if temps are not warm enough. The pair of chrysalis will spend the Fall & Winter outside in an open canning jar in the shed. I figure they will be safe from birds in the shed and the mice that make the shed their home in the winter won't be interested. Right? We'll see if we can overwinter them and watch them emerge in the Spring. I hope I have dill & parsley ready for them!
