This weekend was a Boy Scout camping weekend for Brad & Brendan. I told Brett & Bryce that we'd have popcorn and watch Wipeout (the perfect show for little boys---lots of falling, getting dirty and gross jokes) after "Dad & Brendan left for camp."
Scene: Brad/Brendan packing the car. 1st load out.
Bryce looks out the window, sees them heading to the car and comes running into the kitchen.
Bryce: Mama! Make poppy now!!!! ("poppy"= popcorn)
Me: Bryce, they haven't left yet.
Bryce: Yes they do! (Bryce's version of "uh-huh!")
Me: Go look out the window. They are still packing the car.
(bryce goes & looks. They pull out of the driveway.)
Bryce: Make poppy NOW Mama!!!
I made popcorn. I didn't really want to argue with the kid. I did say that I'd "make popcorn when they left." I just didn't expect it to be taken so literally!
