6th Grade Trip

Field trips are a huge part of the school that the older boys attend. Brendan just returned from his 3 day trip to Mackinaw City, Mackinac Island, and the U.P to see the Soo Locks and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. And yes, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island are pronounced the same, but spelled differently. The 50 6th graders and assorted parents took 2 charter busses up north for a jam packed 3 day trip.

We sent Brendan on his own. He does not need either of us tagging along. This is what he looked like when Brad brought him home last night around 10:30:

Are you cracking up? I laughed so hard when he burst through the front door last night, sporting a ginormous hot dog hat. This kid cracks me up.

The report from his trip? It was fun. He had a stomach ache from eating junk food for 3 days straight and he bought lots of cool trinkets including a really nice rock sample from Lake Superior, and of course the hot dog hat. It sounds like most of the kids bought some sort of funny hat. I guess a flying pig hat whose wings flapped when you pulled a string was a favorite. Brendan even brought home some fudge for us! He's a little tired today but had a blast.
