A Little Secret.

I need to tell you a secret. It will surprise those of you who know me, because it goes against my basic tenets about raising kids.

Brendan has a phone.

Now, before you go crazy and mock me and say, "I told you he'd get a phone before 7th grade!" I need to explain.

Brendan has been using his phone mostly for texting. We're not sure just who he's texting, because we know that none of his friends have a phone themselves. He says he has an unlimited texting plan, which is why he prefers to text rather than call. He also has had to convert all his texts to binary, due to the unique key features of his phone.

But what made me post about Brendan's phone was the incident last night. Brett decided HE wanted to text on Brendan's phone and thus, began chasing him. It was the call that Brendan received mid-chase, the call that stopped the action, that was so interesting. Brendan texted to the caller "ROTFL LOL CUL8R". He just cracked us up.

Here's his phone:

Ha! Gotcha. Brendan's sense of humor is really cracking us up lately. This phone has been an ongoing joke of his, he likes to pretend he's taking a call, texting, checking his voicemail, etc. The funny thing is that he really doesn't WANT a phone-he's never asked for one-and yesterday we were all talking about donating things to a rummage sale at our Boy/Cub Scout church, and I mentioned "his" phone. That's when Brendan started "texting" on it, Brett started chasing him and I decided the toy phone will stay.

  1. hahaha! He's such a funny offspring. Let's see how long he'll be ok with that phone! lol

(This is Lisa, I don't know what "profile" I can use - maybe I should call Brendan to ask him how to do that.)
