How did we go from lazy summer with nothing on the calendar to busy Fall with filled calendars? School hasn't even started yet and the craziness is in full force. I realize that much of the maxed-out schedule is our own fault. We sign them up for sports and Scouts and are busy at church and then the school has activities.
It's all very innocent. Truly, I don't believe our kids do MORE than any other kid around here; they actually do less. Both have Scouts, one has soccer and they both have school committments. Managing Bryce's food allergies is a 24/7 calendar-filler all by itself. Throw in my handbells, volunteering at the kids' school (shocker-I'm actually going to do some this year), committee meetings for both of us and Brad's work calendar and all the doctor appointments and it becomes nuts.
I now maintain 4 calendars. One in the diaper bag/purse, one on the fridge (so the kids can see what's up), one hanging in the cupboard by the phone and one Google calendar. I know, I know-4 calendars is a bit much. But it's September, the 4 calendar system is working, so let the activities begin!
