This is perfect timing. My organizing & cleaning mojo have been sucked right out of me living with all this testosterone. Seriously. If you knew me way back when, you'd know I had this kind of thing under control. My drawers were neat, my bathroom was neat, my laundry was folded, my bathmat was flipped the proper way (shoutin' out to my college roomie-peeps K & L on that one).
But I digress. See what I mean? I can't even organize a short blog post. Sheesh.
Ok, so I went to pull something out of the freezer today and was grossed out by the bits of ice and food and red sticky stuff. The red sticky stuff is from this summer. Yes, people. This summer. Brendan tried to make some sort of juice concentrate ice cube thingies and they spilled. All over the freezer. Why did he spill them in summer and then I finally clean up the mess in January of 2011? Remember me mentioning my organizing mojo being sucked outta me? Yeah. That.
This prompted me to just clean out the freezer. It's not big, but it needed some reorganizng, a good scrub and a few things needed tossing. I wish I had taken a before photo. It was truly an unplanned cleaning event and I didn't think to take a photo. But here's an after shot:
Not bad, eh? I have my frozen water bottles to help fill up empty space (thanks, Alton Brown), then I put all of Bryce's foods together, the meats together, my chicken carcasses together, etc. The door holds bread for stuffing, breads for sandwiches, my garden seeds, frozen veggies and those ice gizmos for the kids' lunches.
Brett and Bryce wanted in on the action:
edited to add: well, jeez. From the photo I took, this doesn't look organized at all!!! It's clean and trust me, it's MUCH more organized than it was previously.
i trust that it is better now, and even if it doesnt look organized to us, YOU know whats in there, and where, and no sticky red stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It really is a lot better...and if I would just drink that bucket o'margaritas, I'd have so much more ROOM!
