Cell!

Brendan is notorious for putting off big school projects until nearly the last minute. This is with me nagging him-he still puts them off.

They have been studying animal & plant cells at school and about 1 week before Christmas break, the teacher sent home a detailed rubric for a 3-D cell project due today.

I thought-"Perfect! He can get this done over break!"

Brendan evidently thought, "Perfect! I can do this the weekend before it's due!"

Not so fast, buster.

He and I sat down last week, discussed his project, he went out on the web looking for inspiration (neither of us are artsy) and came up with a great design. We then went and purchased the supplies (large styrofoam ball, acrylic paints and Crayola Model Magic Clay) and he got to work. I must say, this is 100% Brendan's work and it is probably the best project he's done in his 6 years in elementary school. The little flags are the various cell parts, labelled. Hair courtesy of bed, ha ha.
