I've been told they have too many toys. Well, one person has told me they have too many toys, repeatedly, for several years. You can't really get rid of age-appropriate toys when your boys are 5 years apart in age. When one boy grows out of a toy, the next boy will play with it in a few years.
Some of it was my fault. I'd had Brad take down all the bins of boys' clothes we have stored in the attic (access is in the playroom closet) and it had taken me weeks to go through it all. It hadn't made it back into the attic.
We waited until we had a nice day, and the boys and I literally emptied the contents of the playroom & closet onto tarps outside. We dumped everything into piles and sorted. And sorted. And sorted!
The boys had a pretty decent "get rid of" pile. Some things will be put up on Craig's list, other things will be donated to Purple Heart or Salvation Army. Some toys got packed up for Bryce in a few years, Brendan gave Brett a few things. It all worked out.
The toys are back in the playroom. Everything has a home AND the boys have actually been playing in there. Go figure. We just needed to clean house before they could use it.
