The boys wanted to make a cake. No particular reason, other than Brett not winning one at the Cub Scout Cake auction the other night. So, at 8:15AM, they made a cake. All by themselves. Well, I gave some verbal directions like "Oh my gosh, NOT THAT FAST!" or "you can't boil water for 10 minutes in the microwave and expect to have the same amount in the cup that you started with". You know, gems like that.
We made a new type of frosting, a cooked frosting, from an old Martha Stewart Living recipe. It's good frosting but the recipe made way too much and is really too sweet for this already VERY sweet cake. Did you catch that? I actually admitted something was too sweet. Crazy what age has done for me.
