This blog is "Life With Boys", but I do have a life of my own-sometimes. Last weekend I travelled with my other handbell choir to Ft. Wayne, IN for the Area 5 AGEHR Fall Conference. It was a blast and a lot of work, too. One of our ringers had to stay home as her husband was ill, so I ended up ringing 3 hands worth of bass bells.
I'm not complaining, mind you, as I love having to be so engrossed in my music that I can't think about anything else. These pieces were challenging and on top of the challenge, I had to figure out which bells in which chords were important and try to ring bass bells two-in-hand, which I'm not that great at. That's more of a treble bell skill, good ringers ring two-in-hand all the time.
If you can go through your grocery list or compose emails in your head while playing any instrument, the music isn't challenging enough. This was not the case last weekend-until I got a voicemail from Brad that Bryce was running a temperature and not doing well. I did my best to not think about my sick little guy and ring, but I must admit, I struggled at concentrating on the task at hand. (ha.)
