Well, prayers have been answered-Bryce was approved for a 30 day course of vancomycin.
The Nurse Practioner at his Pedi. GI office called today. Seems that our insurance company denied the appeal. She called them, asked for a supervisor and got to the root of the problem. Seems the Doctors and Pharmacists who denied his meds did so because they believed he should just take his vanco in pill form. That's what adults do.
Right. Because ALL 19 month old babies can swallow pills.
I guess the NP pointed out the error, they reluctantly agreed to "let" him have 30 days of vanco. Idiots.
At least he'll get his pill to swallow, compounded into a liquid form for babies. :)
