Stopping Trouble.

Keeping our littlest boy safe has proven difficult. He's had a broken leg this past winter, numerous cuts and bruises and many near misses. We've had 2 really good items that have helped with safety-but they only work if we use them. The first is shown here in the photos, well, what the photos show is what happens when we DON'T use it. It's a chain latch for the basement door. It was originally installed when Brett was about this age, and works like a charm when latched.

The second item is the gate that blocks off the stairs and the back of the house. Again, it was originally installed for Brett. Recently, Bryce discovered that he can open the lever-and cause all kinds of damage in the playroom. Brad had modified it already, taken off the skimpy knobs that came with it and installing real door levers. He switched one lever out yesterday for a knob-keeping the little monkey OUT of the playroom, bathroom and off the stairs. This gate works great!
